Can I gift games to another account?

I used my dad's account for a while until I finally made my own and got tonnes of games on it. However I still have about half a dozen (Probably more, i can't be bothered checking) on his account, which isn't too troublesome, I can use the family share to let me play on my account. However it tends to boot me out whenever my dad plays civ 5, which is annyoing if i'm playing with friends on Garry's mod or something. So I'm just wondering if I can give or transfer the game from his to mine.

No, just the fact that Users has suggested this many times before.

You bought a single license copy therefore it's only valid for one Steam Account.

I want to give the game (not use it by two accounts or trick valve into anything illegal!). I purchased it fair and not use it at all (not for me), hence the desire to give it to my brother. not only one game but 20 or 30 titles. why should that be forbidden?

Let's pretend the scenario where your account gets hijacked.

I doubt you'd be perfectly fine with someone being able to transfer all the games in your library to another.

It shouldn't be. But the exact same system can also be used to sell games through eBay. Valve and the gaming industry expect abuse will be far bigger use of a feature like this than the legitimate uses, so they won't implement it.

I agree with ReBoot, just use the Steam Family Sharing feature. That's what me and my brother do. You can't gain the achievements, but you can still play the game as long as no one is playing on the account the game originally came from.

Err, you do gain achievements in Steam Family Shared games.

You can't obtain Trading Cards; only the owner can.
