steam family share keeps deauthorizing computer

so every week or two steam keeps deauthorising my computer from my brothers and sisters account so i have to keep logging in the reauthorise my computer. i have asked both and they have said they don't do it and it gets annoying because my sister has the stupid phone code thing

Try sending a request from the "deauthorized" computer (when you click on the game it says to request access or "I'd rather buy it" click "request access"). It'll ask you to name your computer. leave it as the name it fills for you and send the request.

This forces steam to check if your computer is already authorized (it seems to 'forget' sometimes) and (hopefully) it will say something along the lines of "we've detected you're already authorized. You're good to go"

One of the ways to send a request is by trying to launch one of the installed games from the shared library.

If you have none, I'd consider using a recovery program and trying to fetch an older version of the config.vdf.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\config\config.vdf

If all else fails, have your friend unauthorize your device from here:
https://store.steampowered.com/account/managedevices

Then re-authorize from scratch.

I am having this issue now but nothing seems to happen when I press play and I cant get the ask permission thing to pop up

@DragonMaster045 I'm also getting the issue and it is annoying as I have previously used the click play method! I'm not the only one!

Having the same issue as the last two comment. Can't get the pop-up, I still see the game I have installed but can't play them and can't see the library of the other computer.

It happened while I was playing a shared game, and the game just cut to black as I was playing. When I came back the family sharing seemed to be off for some random reason, I activated it but I can't access the other computer's library anymore.

I think you have to re-log into the person you are playing the games from and regive your computer and account permission.

The same thing happened to me last night! And when I had the person log on from my computer to give me permissions again, it happened again today! Just like the above people are saying, I can still see the games but when I press play nothing happens and it doesn't allow me to request access to the games. I'm so annoyed at this point! I literally just fixed this not even 12 hours ago and it's doing it again.

Deleting

 C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\config\config.vdf 

and re-authenticating from scratch fixed issue for me.

Could save a copy of your config.vdf file, find the authentication data, then manually edit the actual config.vdf file when the authentication resets again? Or would doing this get your account banned/not work?
