*RE-TRY* Razer Kraken Pro not compatible with steam?

Hi.
So this is the second try on the steamcommunites, and one of the dousins of tries I've done overall on different tech websites about my issue.
So I have a Razer Kraken Pro headset, which worked fine until this summer. When Windows 10 launched, I got it for my laptop as fast as possible. But after the update, the microphone on my headset does not seem to work properly WITH STEAM. Note that this is only the case WITH STEAM. I use it with skype, teamspeak etc. and it works completely fine. But in any steam game (cs:go, mw2) the microphone creates a "satanic" sound. Dont get me wrong, steam captures the microphone, and sound goes through it. But it is twisted, and people have started to call it satan, or darth vader. It's quite fun, but I am a competitive gamer, and I really need my microphone for communication in-game.

NB. I did send my headset in for repair a few weeks ago, and Razer sent me a brand new one. Same issue. And since this started happening after Windows 10 update, I figured it might be some bad communication between the software, Windows 10 and steam? I dont know, you are the experts out there, reading this.

I have had this issue as well, with both my microphones (Corsair Vengeance 2100 headset and Logitech webcam).

It is likely a Windows 10-related issue. When you installed it, did you upgrade or do a full reinstall? There are quite a few issues possible with the former, but I haven't had a chance to to a fresh install.

Win10 = do a Clean Install; problems usually will carry over if u do Upgrade method.
Once you clean install Win10; DO NOT start installing Drivers. Windows Updates will be able to get the correct ones (sometimes the one way to get some of them) and install; also make sure you do the base Update available first, via clicking Check Windows Updates.

Then after all that, reboot at least once, un-toggle Fast Boot in Win10, then reboot and toggle that back on again (it addresses a bug yet to be fixed).

Then go grab Win10 Drivers from the Hardware/Chipset Maker Websites and install them.

Never had issues using any Logitech Webcam as a Mic in WinXP, 7 SP1, 8.1, 10
Especially Logitech Webcam 500, C920, C930.

After drivers are all done; then you have no issues with having a webcam or headset Mic be the Default, but again you must set that manually as default Recording Device in Windows and any Apps you use. If you hot-plug any USB device, such as a Headset, then you must set the Mic to Default again before loading up apps/games u wish to use that in.
