How does buying movies work?
I know if you rent a movie its a 48 hour period you can watch which is usable for 30 days, but what does buying the movie do? is it on your account permanently same as when buying games? i ask this because the store isnt really clear about it and in the checkout page it says "this item is consumable - not refundable."

On Steam buying a movie is like buying a movie on iTunes. Or buying any other product on Steam.

You buy it, its permanently in your library

Though generally speaking movies can't be downloaded, and are only available via online Streaming. You should look at the description for each movie to determine how its delivered.

If you rent, it's 48-hour rental any time in 30 days.
If you buy, it's permanent and you can stream it anytime you want.

Valve will roll out the Video app sometime this year. That'll at least let you download certain titles and stream titles.
