Insert the gaming receiver's USB connector into a powered USB 2.0 port on the computer (on the front or back of your computer).
If this fixes your problem, it might be a problem with 'default devices', if you use multiple controllers. Just let me know if this is the case.

there's probably something you could try. I don't have the same setup to reproduce the problem, so it's up to you to find people that have similair problems. (PS3 with SCP drivers + Windows 7)
