Games take way too long to download
Hi i have a brand new cyberpowerpc
Brand: CyberPowerPC
Graphic Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960
Hard Drive Size: 1 TB
Operating System: Windows 10
Processor: Intel Core i7
RAM Included: 32 GB

i got a belkin wireless adapter that is about 300Mbps

and i'm not quite sure why it takes more than 2+ hours to download a single game that isn't even that large- is it a issue on steam's end? I had a Macbook Pro before and i NEVER had to wait so long to download any game

It may say 300 Mbps, (2x2 802.11n), but that does not mean it will get all bandwidth.

Run a site survey on your laptop/mobile and see what your signal is.

Remember, antennas (dipoles) on routers are broadcasting vertically polarised generally and at right angles to their pointing position.

How many bars do you have on your signal?

If it is one of those "nano" USB dongles, the smaller they are, the worse their signal.

Dude it does not matter what kind of wireless adapter you have or spec in the first place, if you're internet isn't higher like 30Mpbs or 60Mpbs it will take along time to download a game

Weird because even with the same internet and different computor it was pretty decent, actually.

[link] idk this is apparently it

i couldnt find a decent antenna at all so i resorted to getting a wireless usb adaptor that claims it was that.

I'm not a PC expert so i really dont know what this all means

356 ms latency? I am behind TWO routers, and get 30 ms to a remote server.

Also, go to Steam settings, check your location is local and not far away.

Remove your picture link, it has your IP address in it.

That sounds more like the amount already downloaded and not the speed of the download steam is giving you.

2812 MB ÷ 1.3125 MB/sec = 2142 seconds fastest, or 36 minutes.

Slower if the Steam server isn't running at 1.3125 MB/sec (10.5Mbps).

Assuming constant speed.
