What are the steam "userdata" files for?

760 are the locally saved screenshots, but what are the other folders for?
i rebooted my pc should i overwrite my new "userdata" folder with the old one?
i copy and pasted 760 so i have my screenshots again

The numbered folders are mostly game app numbers. For csgo (240), it's the new place where people put their configs, so their settings are saved (There were alot of people that were asking how their settings were being reversed).

Number (7) is server browser history and launch options.

Whenever i need to do a fresh windows install, ill backup the userdata/steamapps folders and other folders that are connected to my steam games.

I have a problem guys. I bought csgo for the first time then i installed it. I found it theres no 730 folder or the folder of csgo in my userdata. And i can't launch csgo. I think its because of that. I have no config.cfg even in csgo directory. Help me guys

The folder name in userdata consists of a number. That number is your 'Steam3ID' (a sort of user id), so it's unique for every Steam user. I just looked up yours and it should be 40341878.

Almost all folders inside the Steam3ID folder also consist of a number. Each of those numbers is an 'application id' and contains configuration (and other) files relating to those applications. For example, you have been playing Shadow Warrior. Go to the store page for that game and at the end of the url is the number: 233130. That game's app id. So you very likely have a folder with that number beneath your userdata/userid/ folder.

Did I explain that badly? Probably. I'm rushing. Sorry.

I was just about to ask the question of how to figure out which IDs correspond to which games. Your 2-year old post answered my question before I'd asked it ;)
