Does Steam redownload the redistributable packages if deleted?
I've been using TikiOne Steam Cleaner[github.com] to remove the excess redistributable packages (C++, .NET framework, etc) that many games download (last scan showed 12GB of them). I've also noticed a lot of games updating without any change notes, or games that haven't been updated by the devs in years updating.

I'd like to know if Steam will automatically redownloads the redistributable packages (as I may as well keep them since they're going to be there and it's otherwise a waste of bandwidth). I expect it would if I forced validation on a game, so I'm wondering if anyone happens to know if Steam scans games in the background for something like these redistributables also.

IIRC unless you verify cache I don't think so. Check to see if they are back I guess?
