how does rating work??

My guide has got 66 thumbs up and 40 favs and it is 4 stars, i found a guide that had 45 ratings and a couple of favs and they had 1 star why???

How many of ratings or favs do i need to get 5 stars? What gives you the stars?? Ratings, favs, or comments???

The way it works is how good your ratings are based on individual ratings. Say you make a guide and it gets 100 positive 4 or 5 star reviews. That will give you a better rating overall rather than someone getting 5 out of 100 positive reviews, in that case that review is bad.

Edit: It's based on the average ratings of reviews on the guide.

You can not review a guide. You can post comments and say its great but i dowt steam could pick it up as good comment.
You can click thumbs up or thumbs down or fav.

Now i think since i had more favs then that person had on theres is why i got 4 stars and i think its not the rsting its the favs is that true??
