Help!! Steam wont stop running after I deleted it
Help!! Steam wont stop running after I deleted it
I randomly couldnt open steam the other day and I uninstalled it and tried to reinstall but steam client boot strapper and steamwebhelper wont close even when I go into task manager and try to end task it give me an error saying that I cant and access is denied

That's a permission issue, either login as admin, or change your account to have admin rights. If this is a shared PC, ask the owner to do it for you!

It says im admin but i'm not sure why its just not working? :(

Did you upgrade from windows 7/8 to 10?

go to services>steam client > disable (works with windows 10 )
you need to renable when you need steam

Find your Steam folder, right click it and go to properties. Then select the Security Tab, select your user, click edit, then change to Full Control.

Have you tried going into msconfig and uncheck the Steam service in there? You could also try booting into safe mode, then delete the steam folder and start again.

I have but it doesnt seem to show up because I deleted steam but for whatever reason the boot strapper stayed and I cant reinstall steam or delete the strapper or end the task

Also wanted to add that when I start my comp it has the bootstrapper running auto But i'll try the safe mode idea
