2. Yes, if you redeem a key for something you already have, you'll just get an error and the key won't be used up. But if the key contains multiple games, and you only already have SOME of the games, then you will receive everything you don't already have, and the rest will be lost.
3. No
You can permanently delete games on steam now
http://www.pcworld.com/article/3012199/software-games/steam-makes-it-easier-to-permanently-remove-games-from-your-account-heres-how.html
It also seems Steam no longer allows you to do this..
I did this once with a terriable game to test it and it worked.. Now one of the links for one of the steps is no longer available.
I was going to bring up the warning message to show you about permenant deletion..
Perhaps people did complain about it..
this is what you get
Tested on another game I hate
However I did not try logging out and back into steam yet..
Doesn't work that way and it's not going to happen as, as I imagine you probably realized, that would mean you could sell/trade your games as long as it was activated with a key originally.
The game license sticks with your account despite removing it 'permanently'. Think of it as an advanced 'hide' feature.
Yeah.. which is sort of what I was thinking.. Except probably giving it away.. maybe some selling..
With a lot of professional software for example Adobe software, you can revoke a license (Normally you have to be online) and then install the software on another PC..
Thought and was hoping Steam "might" work the same way..
