GMod DarkRP [SOLVED]

i have gone through many tutorials to start a DarkRP dedicated server. it mostly comes back to install srcds, adding a start.bat and adding DarkRP gamemode the gamemodes folder.
but i always get a "couldn't change gamemode - couldn't find 'DarkRP'". i can change the map and access the server but its still sandbox. can some one help?

p.s. i'd like to find a preset server file that i can put in c:\, run and modify if there is such a thing available

what i did was use SteamCMD to install the srcds, i added the start.bat which is supposed to change the DarkRP gamemode and map on startup (pretty sure thats right). and added the DarkRP file from a Github address in to the gameodes section where the files were installed

when i googled how to make a darkrp server i got this method over and over

p.s. WTF that took less than 60 seconds to get a response

i found an answer. i change the start.bat code to something SLIGHTLY different

srcds.exe -console -game garrysmod +gamemode darkrp +map gm_atomic +maxplayers 24 -tickrate 66
echo Server has now started.

not sure what the turning point was though

also for anyone else who finds this, check that anything that says DarkRP says darkrp instead
