How do i download a game i bought from gamestop
I bought a game from game stop and i can't find how to put in the activation code

The first thing to do is confirm the game either requires Steam, or provides a Steam key. If it does not, you cannot download the game from Steam. If the game does come with a Steam key, then you would download and install the client:
http://store.steampowered.com/about/

Then open the client and click "Games" > "Activate a Product on Steam".

Some games you buy from retail don't come with steam keys, check on the back or on the inside of the case, if no reference then it's not a steam app game
