Windows 10, Xbox One button, GameDVR, big picture
I want steam to recognize when I push the "home" or "xbox button" on my wireless Xbox One controller.

When I am on the desktop, pushing the xbox button does nothing, it doesn't focus steam, and if steam is focused, it does not launch big picture.

I've tried disabling GameDVR via the Xbox app, and that has no effect.

I cannot try the "method 2" that I see floating around, because when I push the Xbox button while in a game, all it does is flash the screen a few times. It does not open the GameBar menu. If I push the Windows Key + G, it also behaves the same way. I can't get the GameBar menu to show up.

Does anyone know what I should do?

I fixed it. This is how I did it.

1. unplugged controller
2. used CCCleaner to uninstall anything related to xbox
2. went to the windows store and downloaded the xbox app again and let it install.
3. restarted computer
4. plugged in xbox one controller
5. went into xbox app and made sure gamebar was turned on
6. started a steam game
7. was able to get into GameDVR options and uncheck "use xbox button"

Now I can hit the xbox button on my wireless xbox one controller and it will focus steam, then launch big picture.
