Steam window takes about 10 seconds to open

When I try to open steam, friends list or any game, it takes about 10 seconds for these to appear/pop up. I instantly opted out of steam beta, but nothing changed. I proceeded to contact steam support and they told me to refresh steam files. I did so, but everything still takes 10 seconds to open. All of this started on the 5th. It's now the 9th and no sign of life from steam support. Anyone knows what to do, is there any solution?

its working well here cant be steam problem itself maybe ur pc- so how u refreshed files by delete all files except steamapps,steam.exe,userdata ?

I also reinstalled steam, today, but kept the steamapps folder

try this delete everything in your steam folder except steam apps-user data-steam.exe it wont hurt games nor anything it will clean reinstall steam files maybe works?

yep. Maybe it's worth mentioning that when I have the steam window open and I run a game (from the library) it instantly starts up. When I try to run it from the shortcut (steam window closed) it takes 10 seconds. The same happens with friends list

well maybe try this Control panel > Internet options > Connections > LAN Setting > Uncheck "Automatically detect settings".
if u mean wile launching steam it does take time if u mean wile opening frnds list etc also then its a problem .

Nope still takes a long time to open anything

My steam window 'Connecting steam account:' starting loading very slow, the 'first window to load in steam when you lunch steam' It happened right after I stop and disable the service 'AMD External Events Utility' steam would take over 10 secs to load, turned it back on and now its loading normal again in about 2 seconds, not sure what this service has to do with steams load times, but its drastically effects it and I don't recommend stopping or disabling it if you plan to use steam much

This problem got fixed for me (thank you steam support). I went to this site (https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=5623-QOSV-5250) and tried the clear beta option and it fixed it.
I'd like to close this discussion, but I can't
