Steam link power cable
So my cat chewed up my roommates power cable to his steam link and I am linking to buy him a replacement cable and I was wondering if anyone here would know the specific type of cable needed and where I can purchase it?

I'm guessing your issue was resolved in 8 years, but I was recently trying to find this, and wanted to share my research:

Input: 100-240V (the original adapter supports a wide range of voltage, but a replacement could have a smaller range based on your country's voltage)
Output: 5V 2.5A
Barrel: 4.0mm x 1.7mm
Polarity: Positive center pin

The input of this replacement is 120V (Edison style plug):
