You just need the little USB thing, if that ls what your talking about. Was it broken when you revived it? Because if so, I would return mine and order a new one.

You could use a micro-USB cable, that would be the only other way instead of using the USB dongle.

That little USB plug in? If that's broken, you can't use the controller. The black retangular thing is an adaptor. Plug the small USB in that, then plug the cord in that and the computer. But like I said, if the small USB doesn't work then you can't use the controller.

The Steam Link doesn't require the dongle as it has the BT module built in

Otherwise you'd have to use the Steam COntroller wired

Oh right, you can do that. Sorry for the confusion.

EDIT: I have a question myself. Will wiring the controller power it? Because changing batteries all the time... yech.

I don't care if its wired, I just want it to work, the only thing broken is the usb stick

So just use the wire it came with. If the USB stick is broken, then you can't use it wirelessly.

Wiring the controller doesnt charge it since there's no charging module in the controller.

Do you think in the future it will be bluetooth? without the stick?

Then your best option right now is to use the controller wired via a micro-usb cable. One comes with the controller.

You can also open a support ticket and ask for a replacment one.

If there is a bluetooth installed in the controller then yes. But I don't think there is. If you want, you could return your controller for a new one because it's broken.

It won't really charge it, but you can use the Steam Controller w/o batteries while it is wired.
