Occasional alt-tabbing :: Help and Tips

Occasional alt-tabbing

Ive been having this problem for quite a while now and it goes like this-

>playing game, lets say CSGO for a couple hours
>approx 1-2 hours into playing, my game will tab out onto desktop (playing in fullscreen)
>since it takes a couple secs to tab out and tab in it can disrupt gameplay
>tabbing out can happen twice in less than a minute (random tabbed out, I tab in, few secs later it tabs out again) but that happens slightly less than half of the time.
>when it tabs out i occasionally notice the icons on my desktop "refresh" like theyre gone and back rapidly on their same positions.

I couldn't really reproduce this as it happens randomly every couple hours or so. I couldn't google a solution since i don't even know what parameters to search for. Has anyone had anything similar and has solved it? Could really use the help. thanks!

I'm gaming on a laptop btw, with an nvidia 970M GPU.

This is often caused by programs running in background. Start by uninstalling everything you don't absolutely need.

I use my laptop for quite a few things which include Adobe software, Autodesk etc. but when i game the programs open are usually only skype, steam, the game itself, and sometimes google chrome, rarely though. the rest of the stuff are background processes (currently 99 lol). any of these programs could cause this? cos it usually happens when im in the middle of playing, not like first few minutes.
