You could install windows somehow and then install steam again and then run windows games, i think macs can do that without much trouble.
Google for "boot camp"
Check the store pages to see if a game runs on mac, also check what hardware you need.
Copying a windows game from one steam installation to another definitely works.
The second part could work for 99% of the files or not at all, depends on the game.
Maybe try this: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=8794-YPHV-2033
(on windows to windows)
https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/SteamCMD
You'd just use
Login with
You choose the folder with
Move the game folder on your Windows computer's SteamApps\common\ -folder and the
appmanifest_<app-ID>.acf file to your Windows computer's SteamApps\ -folder and the Steam -client should detect them.
haha sorry i made this a long time ago now, but I've finally got my mac and was trying out what you told me here, and I'm basically stuck on the login. I'm sure its my right username and password but its still saying this:
Logging in user '<adamisky1345>' to Steam Public...Login Failure: Invalid Password
FAILED with result code 5
i tried disabling my steam guard thing incase it was that interfering with it, but have i done something wrong? maybe its asking for a different account that i don't have? an account with this SteamCMD maybe?
lol if you reply to this after all this time ur a ledge :D
Edit: OK! I've got past that problem! i didn't realise you didn't need the <> signs :P but now I've got another problem. so i want to instal the game a folder called Games in my Documents, how to i wright that down as my "PATH"? and also how do i find out what the <app-ID> code is?
Invalid Platform :(
Never mind... just put this line : @sSteamCmdForcePlatformType windows
and it works... thanks mate.. you're really make my day :D
