Game freeze when played from external HDD on MAC OSX

Hi Guys! I am using Mac OSX and I stored my games on an external HDD. Its Seagate SSHD 2tb 3.0 USB. When I start the game, for example Portal 2 it is playable 1 or 2 minutes after that the game just freezes and it is not possible to continue. Has somebody solution to this problem? The HDD is pretty fast so I cant figure it out if it is hardware or something related to software. Thanks in advance ! Regards

Hi once again, I solved the problem. My HDD was formated at MS-DOS(FAT) format and the drive has to be formated at MAC-OS extended (journaled). If you you play on Mac you gotta format it at mac extended. Regards !
