Moving games to steamOS
Happy New Year!!

Is there a way to download the games I purchased already in the windows 7 PC into my new custom build steamOS? I know how to play the games through streaming, but I want to download all my games to my new steamOS.

Thank you!

You hace to download again the games that you own on Steam, and only those that are compatible with SteamOS and Linux (Library will show only compatible games by default). Windows game file are different from Linux/SteamOS ones. You can try to install an run some Windows games in Steam using PlayOnLinux wich is a kind of Windows Emulator but not all games are supported.

Each OS is different version of the games, so no you can't download while on WindowsOS PC and directly transfer those over. The versions for say MacOS or Linux/SteamOS will have different files, and extensions.

Ok. Thanks for your information. I knew it was different OS and file formats. I thought there was a way to download games that you own already to a different machine with different architecture.
