Virus in steam setup file. Possible false-positive?
Hello. I received my new PC today, and when I was installing steam, I scanned the setup file with Virustotal. There was one detection by Mcaffee (or whatever its called) Web Guard.
The detection was: BehavesLike.Win32.Obfuscated.tc
Someone that is tech savy please tell me if this this false positive because I am very worried about my information.
Thank you, and happy new year!

Did you download Steam directly from here:
http://store.steampowered.com/about/

If so, it's a false positive based on heuristics, which is why it's described as "BehavesLike".

Yes, it is downloaded from the official steam website. I do not trust any other website. I mean, I know about computers too but, why not just ask? :) Anyways, nothing has been wrong with my PC as of now. So, I guess everything is okay. I have scanned my computer FULLY with malwarebytes, even for rootkits. Ended up with no threads.
Again, thank you @habitualacation!

Sounds like a false positive. You should report it to your AV provider

Excuse me, but what's an AV provider? Tried looking it up, but I still do not understand.

anti virus.

if you use common sense were else to report it than the software that makes the "false" positive.

Dude, I do not use Mcafee since I know its an bad antivirus. I use Malwarebytes. See, I scanned the file with Virustotal. Its a website that scans a file or a website with LOTS of antiviruses. Oh, and on the top of the scan on virustotal, it said "Probably harmless! There are strong indicators suggesting that this file is safe to use." Can someone else scan the setup file with Virustotal and tell me if there is any detections for them?
