*Update: I redeemed the gift card and the money was put into my wallet. There was a popup with Dota 2 on it that appeared immediately after redeeming and I was able to close it out. Looks like it was mostly an add for the game or a suggestion to buy it. THANK YOU to everyone who commented something useful!

My sister bought me a Dota 2 $20 gift card. I don't know anything about steam gift cards.

Can the money on a Dota 2 gift card be used for regular purchases (Games other than Dota) Or is it for Dota related stuff only?

I was wondering because the front of the card also says "Download and play this game on Steam" "Buy items in-game"

Dota2 uses the Steam wallet and doesn't have a secondary arbitrary currency on top.

so dota cards work for everything because i bought two today and im afraid to use them.

they are steam wallet cards that happen to have the game dota 2 on them. they fill your steam wallet.

Yes, the money on the card is for all games. Dota 2 is more of a suggestion to buy, you don't actually have to buy it.
