How to transfer a game from my HDD to the Windows SSD?
I want to transfer Skyrim from my HDD (D drive) to the boot SSD (C drive) for better performance. How can I go by doing that without redownloading the game? And does Skyrim run better on an SSD?

Redownloading is the easiest way and Skyrim generally runs better on a SSD.

So since I backed up the game folder to an external drive, I think I can remove the game from the D drive, copy the game folder to the C drive, then reinstall to that drive. Correct?

I use Steammover to move games back and forth between SSD and HDD. Mind you, that does make it think it's still in the original location so if you remove the external it will break the link

Should still be useful

I transferred Skyrim to the C drive by uninstalling the game from the D drive, copying the game folder to the C drive, then reinstalling it on Steam to the C drive directory. Game runs better now after the transfer and reducing draw distance settings, but how do I get the Steam Workshop mods to install to the C drive?

You can use Steam Library Manager for future moves.
