Issue with PHYSX -> CPU text popping up
Hey all.

I am experiencing a problem with the "PHYSX -> CPU" text popping up. It is a green text that looks like something from old Nintendo 8-bit days. It acts like a watermark and doesn't go away. It popped up for the first time today when I was using Internet Explorer to play a Facebook-based game.

I did a Google search on the issue. I found out the solution was to go to the Nvidia Control Panel, go to 3D settings, and then toolbar. Then un-check the "PHYSX" in the drop down menu. That was supposed to turn off that text.

Now this is where the problem happens. It *does not* go away after un-checking that drop down selection. The text still shows up in my Internet Explorer, even after closing the whole browser and restarting it. It only pops up in the Facebook game I play.

I thought I would open a few off-line games I have like Skyrim to see if that "PHYSX" is there in the games. It isn't there in Skyrim, while people say that it does pop up in there.

I go back to the control panel, and then see that the "PHYSX" was somehow re-checked in the drop-down menu even though I un-checked it. I uncheked it again, then closed the Control Panel. Nothing happens. I go to the Facebook game, and the PHYSX text is still there. I go back to the Control Panel, and the "PHYSX visual indicator" has somehow been re-checked without me doing anything. Rinse and repeat several times.

I am running a Nvidia GTX 780 card.

Does anyone know how to make the "disable PHYSX visual text" change stick? How do I make it go away permanently?

I’m running into the same problem 10 years later… May I ask do you have any luck resolving this problem? 😭😭

What prevent you from make a freshly GPU driver install, in custom install.
and make sure you use that Driver only that was latest update years ago, do not install a random new gpu driver you think is support then your gpu card dont support them later gpu card has.

And you still necro a dead post." 24 Dec, 2015 @ 7:33am " win10 was not even made back then, so there is no way you can have same issue today then win7 and win8 is not supported anymore.

ps.
Fix your pc search engine and stop find post over 1-2 years ago , today that is a huge mistake, ( if you dont know how to make clean install then you have not done your research here at steam forums.

Most AMD and Nvidia user know this, Intel who cares about that product. ( not a Full blood game card, more a office pc, and a pro gamer will onluy use that card if main card has a burnout.

try a older driver. try nvidia 562 game ready. do custom and check clean and remove game experience. try that.

Also try Balance mode, while you are at it, quality on such old card is pointless. they newer game is. ( and install core driver only , see installed Nvidia and removed 3D vision or whatever yuo might not need. )

Also odd user have not done this, then card is so old, this has been mention in so many steam post.
