Explore Your Discovery Queue
If you’re Steam Level 5 and above, you’ll get a North Pole Noir Sale trading card once you view all the items in your daily Steam Discovery Queue. You can continue and go through your Discovery Queue two more times each day to get a maximum of three card drops each day. (If you reach Steam Level 5 before the end of the sale, you’ll be granted the cards you earned by exploring your Steam Discovery Queue during the sale).
Seems like a shoddy way to jip people. Have games and pay for them but just because of a level you don't get cards because of a level? Guess that's what I get for being poverty level class Steam member.
Guess I'll have to take out a loan and go to Steam school to pay back the tuition and become a middle class level 5 member and hope I don't get taxed back down to the level 3 bracket.
You gain levels by crafting badges. You can buy missing cards on the market or you can trade for the cards you are missing. There is also a community badge which you can get by just doing things on steam.
The stuff - cards, badges, the works are all virtual, no-one can see them if they don't click on your profile, and TBH I can't REALLY see the point of them.
You can boost your Steam rank by posting, reviewing a game, uploading a photo, uploading a video, Greenlighting a game etc. No purchase required.

I've been doing the badge for the community abassador stuff, but I can't find anyone with the cards I am missing and I don't want to pay for Steam funds just to trade or buy cards I need right now. I would rather buy games that are on sale.
Thanks for the advice and tips though. I appreciate it very much. Maybe next year I'll have meandered my way around to level 5 but of course by then they might require level 10. xD
If you complete the last 4 items for the community badge you will be level 5. You have until 1.4.16 and doing your que now will grant you with the cards once you hit 5

I'll look into it. I'll see if I can figure out how to do a few of them. I don't know if my phone will download the steam app without flopping like a fish but I'll try. ;P
