*Need Help* How to attach a .txt file to a discussion post.

I am having issues with one of the steam games and have submitted a post on the game discussion board. The developer has asked me to post the logs from the game which are .txt. I do not see any way to attach files in the discussion.

I tried searching the web for help, but all I found was this steam article: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/faq.php?faq=vb3_reading_posting

The "Attachments and Images" section says: To attach a file to your post, you need to be using the main 'New Post' or 'New Thread' page and not 'Quick Reply'. To use the main 'New Post' page, click the 'Post Reply' button in the relevant thread. On this page, below the message box, you will find a button labelled 'Manage Attachments'.

I can not find this at all. I am really hoping someone here can assist me in attaching a file.

There isn't one. The link is to the old forums and not these discussions Generally the only way is to paste the plain text into a "Code" or "Comment" box.

I had to go to a file upload site and upload the doc there... then paste the link in the reply.

So how are people posting their log files as replies to their posts for other people to read? Do they pay money directly to steam somehow to be able to do that or what???

You can use sites like https://pastebin.com/ to post longer text.
