Steam not working- FIX
So I saw many people are having a problem with steam not responding at all.For some it just wouldn't log in.So after I had this problem this morning and after I bought a new keyboard(lol),I decided to make a thread so other keyboards will be spared.
(Note: this will only work if the problem is caused by SVCHost. If steam still won't work after this, then you should look somewere else, but since most of the problems are caused by Steam waiting for resources, this should work).

1.First of all open Task Manager, then go to details.

2. Right click on Steam.exe

3. In the Drop down menu click on Analyze Wait Tree or Analyze Wait Chain

4. It will display

Steam

SVCHost (PID:####)

Note the PID number. This is important for finding the right host.

*Note If there is No SVC Host displayed steam is NOT waiting for resources and your issue is not being caused by SVCHost. This solution will not work.

5. Close the window and Right click Steam, then End Task on the drop down menu,(also end any remaining task that is related to steam)

6. Under Details on the task manager locate SVCHost and locate the Proper PID number. It will be located in the second column.

7. Right click this host then End Task. Click End Process on the window the appears. THIS WILL NOT DAMAGE YOUR COMPUTER.

8. Reboot Steam. Because the SVC host is now ended Steam will connect to a different host.

If this was your issue then forcing Steam to select a new SVChost will cause it to open. In this instance Steam itself is not locking up, but the Host is.

(Note: This is not something that I figured out by myself)
