If you enable Proton only for supported titles, then the filter will work as you expect.
Thank you, I just found that out this evening while setting up another Linux Mint system for a family member.
Now I would just like a way to sort out native Linux games, and or sort by ProtonDB Rating.
More importantly, it only hinders the user experience. Now there is a button that literally does nothing. What is the purpose of this button? Buttons that do nothing is not good UI design.
The "workaround" is to uncheck a setting that forces you to restart Steam. Does this sound like good UI design? Forcing you to relaunch the client for the filter button to do what it's supposed to do, then restart again if you want to try to force Proton? Why could it not just work the same with or without Proton enabled? This "ummm achhhtually technically it's rightfully so" mindset benefits nobody.
