Need help finding away to link my Steam account and my EA account
Hi all,

Right, some time ago I asked this question and someone very kindly sent me a message with a link to EA, that stated how to link my two accounts, so today I installed 3 games only for none of them to work in order to try and link my accounts, one crash just after launch, the other two will not launch at all, but none of them request to access my EA account like the EA web site said they would.

Does anyone know how to full link Steam and EA?

1) Sign in to Steam.

2) Install Origin if you haven’t already.

3) Click Play to launch an EA game from Steam.

4) Origin will launch and ask you to link your Steam account and your EA Account.

5) Log in to Origin using your EA Account info or create a new EA Account.

6) Steam will install your game and let you know when it’s ready to play.

That does not work!!
What games are you trying?
Bejewed twist, Chuzzle deluxw and starwars the old republic, now the first two I can play on my laptop as it is a win 7 os, but starwars I want to play on the PC.

Are you sure that any of those even require linking to Origin? From the Star Wars The Old Republic store page, it doesn't say anything about origin or the new EA client being requirements.
This is what I am trying to workout, i.e. which games require a link and which ones do not, I do now that Sims 4 does require a link but I all read have that installed in my EA account and I am not paying 34.99 for a game that I all ready own.
you cannot play your games bought on EA on steam
So what is the point of link steam and ea any way, if you cannot play ea games from your steam account. I can do this with both Epic and Ubsoft.

I don't buy games on Steam that require the use of another store... I just buy them on that storefront instead (unless there's a really good sale on) so I'm honestly not sure how the integration works between Steam and Origin.

1) You purchase EA games on Steam and then follow the procedure in post # 1 to link the accounts and Origin validates ownership of the game licence on Steam.

2) You do not get a copy of an EA game on Steam if you have it on EA and neither do you get a Steam copy of a game from having it on Epic or Ubisoft.

3) You can add EA games to Steam as a non Steam game but this does not mean you have a Steam copy of the game.
if you want to play EAgames on steam you must buy them on steam
I think we are getting of topic, what is I want to do is basically connect my steam and ea accounts so that I can buy things like game that are on sale on steam for my games on ea.

EA and Steam are two separate platforms. If you buy a game on EA, then it is strictly an EA game and any add-ons or DLC, etc, for that game you own on EA must be purchased via EA.

You can buy EA games on Steam. That would make it a Steam based game and any add-ons or DLC that is on sale on Steam will work for your Steam platform EA game.

But you can't buy a game on EA and then buy that game's DLC on Steam, or vice versa.

For all the games bought on Steam that require Origin you'll be prompted, when installing a said game for the first time, to log in to your Origin account and link it to your Steam one. If that didn't happen it means it's not needed.

The games you purchase on your Origin account will not appear in your Steam library.

The EA games purchased on Steam account will be in your Origin library, too but will require you to be logged in to both Steam and Origin clients in order to run.

You cannot play games from your Origin library on Steam if you didn't buy them on Steam.
You cannot use Steam to buy DLC for games you don't own on Steam.
Linking your Steam and Origin accounts for this purpose is useless.

It might be possible to link them if you try to log in to the Origin website (in a web browser, not in the client) using your Steam credentials.
just got battlefield 4 on steam it launched once then epic started saying i dont own it even tho i paid for it on steam
