Download speed capped at 2.5 MB/s
I have about 1000 Mbps (125 MB/s), and no matter which downloads region I choose I always get maximum of 2.5 MB/s.

- Download limit is off.
- Cleared Cache


This does not happen with internet downloads, Uplay, EAPlay, Battle.net or torrents. Sometimes STEAM just speeds up download out of the blue. Also checked the CPU, SSD, they are not at max capacity in terms of speed.

Also it is wierd that my computer shows that Steam uses 20 MB/s on the network.

I am using the beta version of Steam right now.

It's an issue with your ISP then. The Magyar Telekom is a subsidiary of the Deutsche Telekom AG which is well-known for hostile peering agreements and net neutrality issues. Last time this was an issue, disabling IPv6 temporarily fixed the issue as it forced Steam to choose servers from a different CDN provider.

Yea tried that but it is disabled already sadly. :(

Then you need a VPN. To comply with the Steam Subscriber Agreement, use one that has hungarian servers and stick to ONLY hungarian ones while using Steam.

Thanks! I will try that, however it is seems to be fixed now.

I have access to my office server via VPN. I just closed the software, but I was not disconnected from the VPN network itself. Now I have disconnected it the speed gone up to 70 mb/s.

I will try to test this if this is the case. Will report back.
