No steam login code

So i have 2 accounts, my main with all my paid games and an alt. when I try to log into my main, it doesnt send a steam code. is this because i linked my alt with the same email?

You might still have a valid login key on that account. Assuming you're using the Steam client, did you actually "log out", or did you "change account"? Because the first will remove the login key, while the second does not.

i think i pressed "log out". I was at a friends house and i created an alt but i pressed "log out" to do it.
