I am beyond frustrated and dont know how to fix the issue

I set up my son's steam account ages ago. I apparently cannot recall the email account or password I used to set up the account which is causing the issue here. When logging him into the game Grounded we are, unfortunately, routed through the Microsoft servers which lagged out repeatedly today for some reason and locked him out. In the end I decided to create a new xbox account for him in order to try to get him in as we wanted to play Grounded together. This however required me to link to his steam so we could play together, which required his password.

In the end, I was able to reset his password and everything seemed fine, however upon attempting to log in again it is asking me to verify his email which we cannot do because I dont recall the email that was used. So I chose the "I no longer have access to this email" option which then asks me to provide his username, which I did, but this for some reason keeps saying it does not recognize that username. I tabbed back to double check to make sure I didn't enter the wrong username and it gives me the exact name I keep typing in. In the end, it locked me out and said I attempted to many times because I kept trying to use both his username and his display name and neither would go anywhere. Now he is unable to access his steam account at all, and we cant play anything on his computer, and Steam... Appears to have no method of customer support at all? What are we supposed to do here?

Once you have access again , I suggest checking/updating the accounts details for the email address.
