my game progress on steam has been deleted :(
please help, i cant find a solution for this and its devastating. recently, after i tried playing terraria i got an error about the steam cloud, i dont really remember what it said and i dont remember what i clicked because it was all so sudden and i panicked. i have spent a lot of time on my games, especially terraria. once i tried restarting the game, all of my players and worlds were lost, and so was the progress on rayman origins and rayman legends, and possibly every other game that i have, but i didnt check if it did because that would only make me more sad :( i cant find anything that could really help me recover my game progress, no posts about it or anything. yes my games are still there and so are my achievements but my progress isnt there at all. i cant play my favourite games with the thought of having to make up for everything i have lost because of some error.

Try to heck there and search for terraria (or any game you need) and if there are older cloudsaves available, try to use those to restore your savefiles. If there's nothing but the one savefiled thats corrupted, you're probably not getting it back... unless there are more options I don't know of.

If you start something and get the cloud error, you should first go to your savegame folder of the game and save your data before doing anything. Usually you get 2 options, one is to use the data that is stored on your pc and the second is to try the cloud data. If the cloud data had faults and overrode your savegame data now, you're now out of luck, since all you got on your machine AND the cloud now are savegames with nothing on it.

Most games keep multiple cloudsaves though. Might be worth a try.

Also, usually every game has its own cloud status, it'll not randomly delete everything on it, but not all games support cloudsaves, which might be the case with rayman. Its very unlikely to lose all your saves of all your games.

unfortunately i dont see anything else in the terraria one than the achievement thingy, but i do have a couple PLR and WLD files for terraria that are supposed to be my players and worlds, i have them in my files, plus at least two backups for them, but i dont know how i can put them in the game. also thanks that you cared enough to respond :)

I don't know enough about that to be able to help you with that then, maybe try to ask google for other ways to restore saves?

Fact is, if all your files on your PC and cloud are damaged/overridden, there probably isn't much else you can do though.

But because you said you still got some files left, I feel like there should still be a possibility.

Maybe move those backups to saves folder and check if game can "see" it now.
Other than that, you'll get better help on Terraria forum.
