High Power Usage (Task Manager)

Steam and Steam webhelper is using a lot of power. I have power usage monitoring on in Task Manager and this program goes into the red a lot. My browser is Chrome, though the OS tries to make me use Microsoft Edge.

It has been happening for a while, and is still happening. When it's doing this, I have noticed that sometimes the tabs in the software (store, library, community, XTS) will show the drop down for each one I drag my mouse over and they will stay like that for a bit until something refreshes it somehow. I've tried killing the process. I haven't been on Steam for very long this session.

Where are the advanced control settings for Steam Effects? Maybe that would help? But, then what abilities would I lose in turning off those features?

Just curious on what to try/do to fix this, if anything. It also does it when the browsers are up to date.

If you have this problem, too. What is yours like? Does it behave the same as mine does?

I'm on an Alienware Area 51 R2. I have been having some issues off and on with it. lol It's a long story, tbh. But, regardless of the issues I've had and fixed, this issue remains.

My concern is heat. If it's impacting my power usage, it's increasing my power need and I have a 570 watt right now. If I remove one cord, I can take it down to 330 watts or so. I have two cords. I have recently replaced one cord so I have been monitoring all of the apps demanding resources from my system to be sure things are working accordingly. When a program runs, it needs more power. But, sometimes the demand is high for a program and this is happening here with Steam and it's webhelpers. It goes into the red beyond moderate & beyond high, and is instead "Very High" at times. Right now it has settled down. Perhaps because I'm not browsing my library or other areas of steam, though it still shows 8 instances running under Steam.

I may never figure this out. haha. But, if you notice high power usage, at least then I'd know it's not just me.
