Steam Link - Xbox 360 Wireless Controller D Pad Not Working
I have 3 xbox 360 controllers connected to my steam link via an official Microsoft Wireless Receiver Adapter. I have had this setup for years without issue. Recently, the D pad has stopped being recognized in steam link for all three controllers. Going into steam link settings, and testing the controller layout, shows D pad is not recognized. Testing the controller in steam itself, via settings > controller, shows the D pad is functional.

It seems some others are having issues with d pad support for 360 controllers as well (https://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/7/4298194337939329391/) but seems slightly different because my controllers d pads are recognized on my PC by steam.

I have the same issue.

The controllers connected to the xbox 360 receiver on my steam link don't have a working dpad, but if I connect them to my pc directly, they work.

Did you manage to solve it?

Solution:

Use a more up-to-date controller, such as the Xbox Series controllers or PS5 controllers.

I love how people unironically suggest spending $200 on four new controllers to fix a firmware update issue.

I have not figured out a solution to this yet. I agree with Badmin. These worked just fine for years. Some update busted it. New controllers are not the solution.
