Your purchase has not been completed. Your credit card information has been declined by your credit card company.

Note that in some cases, your credit card company may put a 'hold' on funds in your account, but you will not be charged. After correcting any errors in the information displayed below, please try your purchase again.

i did look it up on steam but i think he problem isint with my bank, given that the card works in other stores
What you just said doesn't automatically means it's your postal code problem, it means that your BANK either blocking Steam for some reason, or you lack the funds that needed to pay, this is something you have to contact your bank for, and depending on the bank you may need to contact the fruard department to even fix the actual problem if the bank teller doesn't have access to see certain things, or doesn't have access to lift restrictions.

You can try paypal see if that works for you, if not then gonna have to talk to your bank.

If the issue was Steam end it would've said contact support, which you have to do to find out what the problem.

The specific postal code you have to provide is the true one where you live.

I suppose there's only a limited amount of actual "checking" because IP-geolocation is notoriously inaccurate.

If you're in the US, they'll need it for tax purposes because everyone and their dog has different sale tax.

But, even in Europe, they still need to know what country they need to pay the taxes to.

Use the correct one. If you're buying with a credit card or something, the postal code is usually sent to the payment processor as a verification check. The premise is if you don't know the correct postal code on the card's account, then you're likely not the true owner of the card.

I would imagine the bank will ask you for that information as part of their security process to ensure you are the correct person.

if your using a credit or debit card, you must give the same information as was given to your bank.

don't know about the US but in the UK it is required by all card providers.

With what exactly? Describe precisely the problem you're observing!

If you're an American, use the basic 5-Digit postal code, not the extended one that has a dash in it.

i was using a specific postal code before and it was working but now when i try to use the same exact postal code with the same exact billing information it just doesn't work.

When putting in your Banking information, have to ensure it Matches with what your bank has as they compare name, address card number, and sometimes postal code depending on the bank in question.

So if you gave bank postal code 12345 then use 12345, if gave bank address 123 rainbow road, you put in 123 rainbow road simple stuff, if you don't remember what information you gave to your bank you have to login to your bank, and check the info you gave.

Now if you're trying to use a bank card that as no ties to Visa, Mastercard, or etc for Online transactions then that card can't be used for online payment, so ensure your bank card is meant to be used for online.
