There is someone impersonating me, and I don't know why

The other day, I got multiple messages here on Steam and Discord asking me if I added friends from a new account, with one linking me to an account that appears identical to mine (until you do any amount of scrutiny, like I don't play CS2, and it's empty). The owner of this account has added a number of friends, who accepted the invite thinking it was me on another account, and I've since informed those who have accepted the invite that it's not me. I have also reported the account to Valve for impersonation, and encouraged friends who accepted the invites from the account to do the same. Is there anything more that can be done?

To be frank, I find it more funny than anything because... why me out of everyone, I'm just some random furry who doesn't have a valuable Steam account and this is only the second time this has happened within 20 years, but it's still a bit odd that someone would choose to impersonate me of all people on this platform.

almost 300 friends = 300 possible scam targets. people are more likely to click a link or do what someone they know and/or trust says to do.

some people post a notice on their profile "this is my only account..." or even post a warning that someone is trying to impersonate you.

for scammers, any account is valuable regardless of what the account actually has.

I have posted a couple warnings that someone is trying to impersonate me, but I don't know how many of my friends actually look at the activity feed, based on how many times I've had to tell them after the fact =w=

I'd say this is my only Steam account but that's not entirely true as I created an alt to warn friends after my account got hijacked several years ago. At least that got resolved quickly so I have no use for the alt anymore.

Thank you for that but you should delete the url as it can be a basis of name and shame.
I sent in a report also as you can clearly see this is a spoofing attempt of some weird sorts.

Thank you for the report. I've also removed the URL as requested. I hope Valve does something about this soon, just in case this dude is a scammer.

I think they are just hassling you and maybe attempting to destroy your credible reputation or a hater, perhaps they are someone you know who is now a sworn enemy. The good thing is that I do not think they are after your account as they cannot see your inventory and this is what scammers look for because of the marketplace.

I can see from that reward that they're active on the Steam forums, so... perhaps I barked up the wrong tree somewhere? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

No, not that I can remember. I'm not gonna pretend that I am absolutely innocent, I've done some trolling targeted at right-wing gamers crying about ♥♥♥♥ that doesn't impact whether or not a game is good in the slightest, but I got bored of doing so and have since stopped. This is my first time posting on the Steam forums in a bit.

Well, I am the original. I also don't play CS2 or Dota 2 competitively, let alone at all.
