Firefox HTML as a Non-Steam game (that doesn't end the 'in game' status the moment the web page loads)?
Hi, I'm trying to add Degrees of Lewdity (a Text-based game that I play from a browser) as a non-steam game but it doesn't work. The Firefox HTML that I use to open the game can be added to be a non-steam game, but the 'in game' status automatically ends the moment the web page loads.

How can I make the 'in game' status stays on until I close my firefox browser? Thank you.

It works when you use a game-specific Firefox profile. I.e., you from running (via e.g. WinKey+R)
firefox -P
create a new profile named e.g. "Lewdity" and then in the Non-Steam game's rightclick Properties -> Shortcut use for launch options
-no-remote -p Lewdity https://www.google.com
Of course with that URL replaced with the in fact correct one.

Expected this would be a result of Firefox forking off the actual browser(s) in a multiprocess sort of way which you could then forego with a command line parameter -- but upon checking here Steam sees Firefox running for as long as it does.

How have you added it? I here just add Firefox (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe) as a Non-Steam game and then in its rightclick -> Properties -> Shortcut set "Launch Options" to e.g. "www.google.com" where you would enter any URL that you need.

Perhaps if you just added "the HTML" and rely on Windows to then open it with Firefox that that's the issue. Can't otherwise reproduce an issue.

From a quicklook, to keep Steam from displaying you as playing it, the shortcut needs to launch Firefox. Unfortunately using the "-new-window" flag to launch a new instance of the browser does not appear to help, so either you'll need to get into the habit of closing Firefox before launching the game, or get a second(/third/whatever) browser and use that.
Oh right, you get this behaviour when the browser was already open...

Unfortunately also "-new-instance" and "-wait-for-browser" are not working.

I want to confirm that this solution does work. 'in-game' status stays on using Firefox profile as a non-steam game. Thank you very much!
