I got a new HDD installed and I need help
So I just installed a new hard drive and someone told me to take steam library for my old hard drive put it on to my external drive and then paste the library into my new one but the thing is my old hard drive is still in my computer so my games in my Steam library are booting from that drive so how do I get them to boot from my new drive? Because I pasted my steam library into my new drive.

Out of curiosity, why would anyone get a new HDD for games in 2024? Cold/backup storage, understandable. But games?

Here's the thing. I had an SSD that kind of just failed on me because my OS got deleted And so I just put my OS on my M.2 drive And so I don't have the most amount of space on my M.2 because it's only 500gb And so I got a new hard drive because I had one for storage but it's pretty old so I got a new one and I am looking at getting a 1TB M.2 In a couple months And I didn't have backup of my OS And so I was stressing out and I figured it was just easier to put my OS on an existing drive. And also some of the games I play aren't online so I don't need a fast booting SSD like some games boot the same speed on my SSD as they do on my HDD.
