So I checked for all of this and it all came up clean. My account is not compromised. I've had my mobile app for months now and it never alerted me of something happening. I read on Steams item policy and that is just perfect. Glad to know the items I bought and paid for can just disappear into thin air.
This is caused on your end somewhere and you can also check your trade history to see if it shows them traded away if you are on the correct account.
Steam Guard is only an additional layer of security. If your skins "disappeared", as you claim, there are only 3 options:
1) You logged on wrong account.
2) Someone from your family has access to your PC and either sold them or sent them to his account.
3) Your account is compromised and scammers took them.
Check your trade history too, you might find some clues there.
What does your trade and/or purchase history say, regarding the missing skins?
- Email: https://haveibeenpwned.com/
- Password: https://haveibeenpwned.com/Passwords
-- If they are contained in any public breaches ("oh no, pwned!"), change your email account's password from a secure computer before proceeding.
-- If that happens, you may want to secure other accounts than just Steam.
-- Consider using mobile two-factor authentication on your e-mail address if your e-mail provider supports it.
SteamGuard is useless if your e-mail address is vulnerable.
I went through my email and changed my password. I also went into my trade history and you all were correct someone stole all of them. Luckily I've never spent over 10 dollars worth of Rust skins but I still need to ensure that my account is safe.
Yea I went to check and all of my skins that weren't Twitch drops were all traded away. Luckily I've not spent too much money on those skins but it's still frustrating.
b) if they are simply missing then you need to run the game and connect to their services to sync your inventory with their services.
If you are indeed compromised then avoid all 3rd party Rust sites as they are all notoriously bad.
Yea I looked into devices my account was logged into and there was a device in Russia I wasn’t familiar with. Changed all my passwords from a trusted device and reset guard. Any other options I have to secure my stuff? Any help would be appreciated
