Showing All Games Played, Publicly
Is there a way to show my list of games played publicly without the user having to login to Steam to view it? This was the way Steam used to work, but I don't know when that changed.

Requiring a login to view the All Games list has been in place since early last year.

And late last year, user's post history was put behind the login as well.

Thanks again!

I'd love if I could opt out of these. The post history I really don't care about, those that are creative can find ways around that. But my games history I don't see any way to share that info.

You know what brought this question on? You'd never guess.

I asked an ai chatbot what are some ways I can enjoy games more. got a very detailed response and it asked one thing "What kind of games do you usually enjoy? Is there anything specific that's making you lose interest?" to which I informed it about what steam does providing total playtime and annual summaries of the previous year. it said it can't login to steam to view the games, and after I asked it followed up stating it only needs the data, a list of my games in order of playtime in any format imaginable. It just can't login.

So i'm going to get game recommendations from google's new chatbot, which is said to be better than chatgpt, but it can't access my game list.

What can I do to make this info public with minimal effort on my part?

btw cool profile pic!

EDIT: also the change to show installed game's playtime at the time i dislike. it ignores the sort i want which is all games by playtime.

AI scraping was one of the reasons why some stuff was put behind the login. Mainly post history but users wanted more preventative measures from other sites that routinely gathered info for years on public profiles without their knowledge or consent.

You can try using the API to generate a list...

Thx.

I can't imagine a scenario where having my played games and playtime sitting in some database could be a bad thing.

The only thing I can imagine is that it could be linked to an advertiser id and make someone else money by selling me, without my permission.

Now my posts, hell yea that ♥♥♥♥ shouldn't be easy to access cause we've seen all too often how old words are used against someone. Also having that stored in some database sold to the highest bidder 50 years from now could be some future employer.

I'll take a look at what is avail from the api. I thought it was next to nothing after the changes that took place after steamspy.
