PS4 controller gyro mouse for desktop control not working

Hey, I just got myself a Nacon Revolution Unlimited Pro (third party PS4 controller) and would like to use it to control my Windows desktop. Everything works fine except for gyro as mouse controls.

The weird thing however is, that when using gyro in games (natively or through Steam Input) it works fine. When calibrating gyro using Steam, movements are also picked up correctly.
After exiting a Steam game that uses gyro, mouse controls using gyro work through Steam Input. As soon as I restart steam it doesn't work again.

Can someone help me?

try to reinstall the drivers for controller and see if this works
