Steam is using my RTX 3070 instead of my AMD integrated card
Hello everyone I'm having an issue where the Steam application is using my RTX graphics card on my laptop which is causing my battery to run out quite fast. Before the new update it used my AMD integrated card and I would have no issues, when I ran a game it would start to use the RTX card but now it uses it all the time. No games are running, just steam itself and the obvious solution of just exiting steam is not good since I chat with my friends there and call each other up for games.
Does anyone know how to fix this issue?
Thanks in advance

Set up your system so that only the integrated videochip is used for Steam.exe. That's what video drivers are for among other things.

A friend also had the issue and he fixed it by going to Graphics Settings on Windows 10 and then on Graphics Performance Preference select Desktop App -> Browse -> find steam.exe and select it -> Add it -> Click on it and Select Options -> And you should have Power Saving as an option.

I don't know any other fix

Thanks, that worked for my Nvidia dedicated GPU. Usually, the Nvidia control panel will let me tell a program which GPU to use, but for some reason this wasn't working with Steam. I had to go through Windows graphics settings in order to get it to stick.

won't this just make it so that the GPU is disabled completely and the games run on integrated graphics?

No, as it's set on the Steam.exe. Games have their own .exe and aren't influenced by the setting for Steams .exe.
