Steam Clients opens and closes right away after today's update.
Title says it all. The Clients opens, downloads updates and opens, to shut down completely in matter of seconds. The icon even disappears on the task bar. I've tried uninstalling it, running as administrator, deleting cache folder, running steam://flushconfig, enabling it to open automatically, repairing it through command line... all kinds of suggestions from internet and nothing. Any other tips are appreciated or I guess I'll have to wait until another update, smh

Restart PC, then try.

Either something messing with Steam files, and permissions, or that something wrong with storage having read, and write sector issues if this is a HDD.

I restarted PC every new try (uninstall, running as admin, deleting cache folder etc). Problem remains.

Steam being installed on HDD? If so do error check on it, and defrag it and see if that solve it.

Also when you uninstall Steam, ensure that Steam folder is actually gone, if files are remaining, that may be the issue for a problem you're facing simply delete the steam folder can get rid of the corrupted files.

Same Problem here, something they updated at 0227 today seems broken.

Good to know. If that the case then either like you said Steam made an error with render, or that AMD driver possibly latest is the issue, or faulty install amd driver.

it seems to be a problem with updating AMD drivers for me...like the AMD software doesnt clean up properly... i uninstalled the graphics card via Hardware Manager but i still seem to have full gpu power.... very strange

Did Steam just appear for a short time at startup, and then immediately disappear?

I updated my AMD GPU driver as well as a last resort earlier today and that did get the Steam Client running again but I left my machine for a few hours and when I came back the Steam Client is not running again.. same as before. I don't understand why upgrading the AMD driver for my GPU would be a temporary fix... very strange.

Well then, we'll wait until the valves get enough sleep and understand that we need to fix this
