Launching the Steam Client blue screens/reboots my computer
Whenever I open steam, it tries updating itself only to bluescreen my computer and cause it to reset. From what I cant ell this happened out of nowhere, I wasn't doing anything weird to my knowledge. I do have the Beta update field selected I'm pretty sure so it might be a borked update. I also tried the method of repairing my installation by deleting everything in my Steam folder other than Steam.exe and the steamapps folder. Has anyone else come across this before? Is there a verifiable fix?

EDIT: I ended up going back to a System Restore Point from the day before I had this issue and that seemed to do the trick, but I'm leaving this thread up for any more discussion and posterity for those who end up having the same issue.

Other then what all here said about update BIOS, make sure you do not have a old device that might not be win10/11 driver, such is seen before and can effect system.

And we only guess this then, we tell pppl try remove all device you dont need to play a game with mouse and keybaord. 1screen and so on back to basic what was seen as core only in the old days, and them old adice still stand then, as you are now things dont work as it should.

usb device replug all mouse and keyboard, to make sure system auto configurated them again, as i said you stry to have a stable pc , with no OC.

Dont foregt chipset drive
r and GPU drivers with freshly installed.

get out of steam Beta, if that what it takes to make it stable.
is there a way to go from the Beta channel to the Stable channel without being in steam?

Can you not selected no BETA chosen same place where it go into Beta , its should do the switch automatic.

The entire point of this thread is that I literally cannot launch Steam because it blue screens my computer, so I need to find another way to go from Beta to Stable (if i'm even on Beta in the first place)

If you get BSOD can you tell us the error code?
Depending on how it's feeling (i don't know the circumstances) I've either gotten the stop codes of KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED or WDF_VIOLATION

Regarding KMODE - after this does it show any name in brackets?
WDF means that your problem might be due to faulty win framework driver.

neither of them showed any name in brackets, and do you know how one could repair their framework driver?

I know this is probably a bot as someone else mentioned and I'm gonna get a ton of hate for this but,

Bots don't put smiling face at all though like what i did

Bots will use emojis instead

p.s the reason i want to clarify is because solutions for Windows 10 might be different from solutions for Windows 11

If so then means you have a critical Windows error when you did the windows update.

If issue ever happen again try this.
- Open CMD as admin type in without quotes "SFC /scannow" this will check your windows for error.
