I can't buy things in the community market
I have been using the community market for years now, although not so often in the last 2 years or so. I was trying to sell something and i saw that now you can only sell if you have bought in the last 365 days, ok, found some dota 2 immortal i would buy, but i also can't buy anything. The following message appears:

"The Market is unavailable for the following reason(s):
You must have a valid Steam purchase that is between 7 days and a year old with no recent chargebacks or payment disputes. To remove this restriction..."

No Purchase Older Than 7 Days

Your account must have a successful purchase older than 7 days, but not older than a year in order to access the Community Market. The purchase of wallet funds, games, DLCs and software meet this requirement. Activating a Steam Wallet Code or Gift Card on your account to add funds to your Steam Wallet also meet this requirement. Retail CD key activation and gift purchases do not satisfy this requirement.

Any purchase that is charged back on your account will reset this restriction. Only purchases after the most recent chargeback will be considered for purposes of this restriction.

So what's the question?

EDIT: Oh, wait, the question is: you need to buy e.g. a game or wallet funds before you can use the market again.

Thanks! I found it confuse because of the "between 7 days and 1 year" and was thinking it was a purchase on the steam market. What a bad take on Valve. What is even the reasoning behind it?

Yeah, i thought it was a purchase on the market to have the sell option available, since it was this way when i started using the steam market some 11 years ago. Thanks!

That the market is a feature for PAYING customers?
Its not unreasonable to demand you buy a 50 cent game once a year to make money on their market section.

Valve take a cut in the market when selling, also, i have 12 years of buying things on Steam, including skins for Dota and Team Fortress 2. I have lots of games pilling up, so i've been buying a lot less. My account have registered phone number and i use Steam Guard, i don't think there is a reason for so much control.
