Can’t accept gift card from my friend

Yo guys does anyone know why i cant accept digital steam gift card? My friend bought it from steam website as guest (without steam account) then he forwarded me the gmail message that contains gift card in it but when i click on accept gift its says (An error occurred accepting your gift, please try again in a few minutes) already sent a mail to steam support but there is no responses yet. wtf should we do?

That whole process sounds suspicious. Unless something was drastically changed and I missed it, Steam does not issue gift cards like you described. Sounds like your friend went to an unaffiliated website and possibly got scammed.

This is happening to me too!! When I click on the 'accept giftcard' thing from my email it just redirects me to my inventory with a blank square. I had the error message prior too. a server issue?

Not the same thing. OP speaks about buying a a gift card from Steam as a guest without a Steam account. That's not possible, so there is more to the story.

Yeah, I see it now, but none of those links of yours really show it to anyone. But I did try to buy one while logged out of Steam and can see the option to buy as a guest. Just another confusing contradiction found between different Steam pages.

Note: digital gift cards are sent through your Steam account. If you don't have an account, it's free and easy to create one with your email address.

Reading that, it certainly appears that an account is required. You don't notice the Guest option until you're asked to login.

As for OP's issue

It is just a possibility and my own opinion

1) someone's steam account is compromised and their email is also compromised as well
