Does steam verify games after install?
Whenever I have a game update. Observing downloads it says patching and then “verifying”. Does this “verifying” mean it’s checking the downloaded file integrity similar to how we can verify the integrity of game files?

Seems like it’s auto verification? Which I’m perfectly fine with. Just not sure if that’s what it actually is.

Yes, it's simply checking the integrity of the files making sure there are no corrupted files that will prompt an error when you try and attempt to launch the game, It's also checking to see if its an official "Steam" game. I've seen it in action a couple times catch a corrupted file and then it will restore the game files to its original integrity eliminating the corrupted files and restoring them to default. :steamthumbsup:
