How do I recover from a scam?
Six hours ago I was at work, not on steam, and I got an unwanted transaction that robbed me of most of my items. Is it possible to recover the damage caused by this?

There are no refunds for this but you should secure the account and watch out for that stupid game Counter Strike 2:

Do not trade until your account is secured.

Take the following steps below to secure your account:

1) Check that the email and phone number on the Steam account are still yours.
2) Scan for malware → https://www.malwarebytes.com
3) Deauthorize all other devices → https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
4) Revoke the API key (there should be no key) → https://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey
5) Change passwords from a clean computer.
6) Generate new backup codes for your Mobile App → https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage

Steam does not return inventory items or wallet funds: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=3415-WAFH-6433#noreturn

If you no longer have access to your account, read this following post:

Follow all the instructions above.

This also happened to me. I think we should start posting these scam sites and making more people aware of them. It's extremely easy to get items with the API key and these sites aren't getting shut down. The one I got scammed by has 13 hostnames that date back to 2023.

You recover from this by first following the steps in the first reply, then accepting the items which were stolen are gone forever and then understanding how this happened to you in the first place and not making the same mistake.
